CAREER PREPARATION AND DECISIONS

Our children are preparing for their life after school, and we would like to help them grow in confidence in the decisions they have to make on GCSEs, A-Levels, and universities or careers after secondary.

 

We help the school run events with parents share their stories, about their careers, what a day in their jobs looks like, the choices they made, the mistakes they wish they had done differently and general advice on how to approach career choices.  We had a variety of careers in the group of parents, alumni and STEM ambassadors that attended: lawyers, reporters, marketing director, policeman, architects, doctors, etc.  

 

Students found the session very informative. Ran as a rotating small pannels, they had the chance to learn about 15 people's career stories.  They were well prepared for the discussion, as the professional development staff at the school gave them guidelines and a 'cheat sheet' of what questions would be of value.  

 

All in all, a great success for parents, students and staff.
